Hey guys. I’m selling a braillenote MPower. It’s 1 and a half years old, it’s got a braille keyboard and a 32 cell braille display. It’s rarely used. Honestly, I’m just using it as an alarm clock at the moment. I know it does way more awesome things but honestly, I couldn’t tell you half of it. It’s got version 7.2 of what ever program it has on it. I’m aware that it’s not the latest version of the program, so I’m willing to haggle a little bit. But I’m also aware that retail value for this particular bit of equipment is about 5 thousand dollars. It’s got blue tooth, USB ports, wireless capability, etc. On one charge, the battery will last you 3 solid days. I’m looking to get rid of it as quickly as possible. I’m asking 4 thousand, but I’m willing to haggle.
Since this unit is almost 2 years old, I'd be more interested to know the condition of the braille display. I'm thinking that $4000 is a bit much, but this is only my opinion. Good luck selling it anyway...
Seeing as FS is selling a factory reconditioned PacMate QX for $1600 and a 20-cell display for under $1000 (and also 40-cell Pacmates are on the market for around $1000) I think this price is at lest $1500 over what I would consider reasonable.
I know list prices are hefty, the other thing to remember though is price of technology drops very fast with time, pretty much any computer equipment that is 2 years old will have depreciated significantly.
Best of luck, but it's probably better chance to offer something like this at the reaonable,or even lower, end of theprice range if you seriously want to turn it into cash.
cheers
